The ASU Student Veterans Association has had numerous members of the business community visit campus and share opportunities and best practices for integrating into the civilian workforce, while maximizing military experience. We want to thank companies like Bank of America, Boeing, IBM, and AT&T for their support. We have also partnered with Brynne Tillman, author of LinkedIn for Business Development and from the Business Development University. Brynne will be providing invaluable insight as we prepare to expend our operations within the LinkedIn universe.
Recently, Courtesy Chevrolet provided the necessary contribution to send club members to support the Phoenix Suns basketball team. The student veterans and their families presented the Colors for the National Anthem that evening. We want to encourage veterans with GM vehicles to visit them on Fridays for free oil changes. They have a strong history of supporting veterans and are always looking to hire veterans.
Finally, we are working with community colleges to ensure shared resources and information at all levels. Meetings have been held with Mesa Community College and Phoenix College and will continue with other community colleges and universities as an effort to build strong partnerships with other Student Veterans of America Chapters in the time leading up to the national conference in Scottsdale next year. Stay tuned, lots of exciting news to follow. If you have questions, comments, or concerns; please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
